Sooo…I made it through Black Friday. I tried halfheartedly to grab some deals but I failed. And I’m okay with that. It was my fault because I failed to do my homework. The item that I wanted the most was the Stila Glitz and Glam Palette & Lip Glaze that was being offered at Sephora for $12 CAD and valued at $76. I should have asked the store yesterday what time they planned to open today. They did not advertise the store hours and when I called the store at 8:45 a.m., there was no answer. The recording said that the store would open at 10 a.m. I called again at 9:30 a.m. and was told that almost all the items were sold out because they had opened at 8:30 a.m. By the time I made it to the store around 10 a.m., they were putting out $54 gift sets on the sale table. I didn’t really need anything but the $12 kit looked cool and I was planning to get one for my sister, who is a cosmetics fanatic. My co-worker and I shrugged it off and went to Walmart instead. They were not offering any Black Friday deals in Canada so it wasn’t busy. I ended up buying a bag of Tostitos tortilla chips and 2 Neutrogena face cleansers.
I went back to my office and decided to shop online instead. I had received an email from Air Miles about getting Black Friday deals and 10x the Air Miles. The airmilesshops.ca was slow in the morning but I had managed to log in. However, I had trouble accessing the Old Navy Canada website, where I wanted to buy some clothing for my kids. I could have easily gone to the store in person but they only offer Air Miles through online shopping. After I timed out a couple of times, I gave up. I spent a total of $17 today, but that wasn’t on Black Friday items. I will see what Cyber Monday brings.
