The second blog that I’m featuring from my blogroll is “Listen to Lena!” by Lena Almeida. This blog won first prize in the 2010 Canadian Blog Awards for the categories of “Best Family Blog” and “Best Blog”. This blog is the equivalent to Cranium in the board game world. It’s everything you would want to read about rolled into one website, like product reviews, giveaways, shopping, food and fashion. More importantly, I never feel that Lena brags about the items that she receives for review. In addition to her honest opinion, she also posts the location of the lowest Canadian retail price for the items. I trust Lena like a friend, particularly when it comes to beauty products. Why should I spend my hard-earned cash before reading a review from Lena first? After all, “if it’s on sale, she’s already bought it.”
If you are a fan of Lena’s, please remember to cast your vote for “Listen to Lena!” in the Best Family Blog category of the 2011 Canadian Blog Awards. Voting ends on January 20, 2012. Lena is not campaigning for votes but she doesn’t have to. Anyone who reads her blog already knows it’s total “awesomesauce”. If these awards are truly based on popular opinion and not vote campaigns, Lena is sure to win again!
