I sent my dear husband (DH) to Food Basics today. He knew I was tired or else I wouldn’t have even asked. (Read this post if you don’t already know what a shrew I can be about grocery shopping.) I was very pleased when he returned with all the correct items on my list, even making the executive decisions on when to buy generic (sour cream) and when to stay with the name brand (Lea & Perrins Worchestershire sauce). By the time he told me that he purposely selected the Lactantia milk with $6 worth of coupons printed on the bag, I was already over the moon. Great job, DH! You’ve just earned yourself another trip to the grocery store. Maybe next time I’ll send you with coupons.
Here are the details of the Lactantia coupons along with the best store matchups this week. (Note: If math makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to ignore my detailed cheese calculations.)
$1 off any 2 x 2L or 1 x 4L Lactantia Purfiltre milk
–> Food Basics ($5-$1=$4 for 4L)
$1 off any 2 x 2L or 1 x 4L Lactantia milk – same as above
$1 off Black Diamond (200g, 300g, or 500g) Cheese
–> No Frills ($3-$1=$2 for 300g, $0.00667/g)
–> Real Canadian Superstore ($4.77-$1=$3.77 for 500 g, $0.00754/g)
$1 off any Astro Original Product (500g, 650g, 750g, 12 x 100g) – no store sales this week
$1 off any Astro BioBest Product (8 x 100g, 12 x 100g, 8 x 90mL, 8 x 94mL or 4 x 200mL) –> Loblaws ($3.99-$1=$2.99 for BioBest yogurt 12 x 100 g)
$1 off Black Diamond Cheestrings (16 pack) or Funcheez (8 pack)
–> Food Basics ($5-$1=$4 for 16 pack)
The coupons don’t expire until May 31, 2012 so you can certainly clip and save them for another day. However, that will require organization and remembering when to use them. Also, by combining the coupons with store sales you will save much more money. For example, the regular price of a 500g Black Diamond cheese bar is $8.29 at Loblaws. That’s more than twice the price I’ll be paying this week!
Thanks for sharing these tips Fay! Always useful!!! Smiles…Lora
I appreciate the feedback, Lora!
