Everyone has heard that preparing a budget is critical to assist with spending and saving. I have never created one before so I’ve been looking for personal finance software to assist me. I read some software reviews to see which one would best suit my needs and I decided on Quicken Cash Manager. Most banks have an option to download electronic statements into Quicken format or even allow a secure Web connection between Quicken and your bank account, which allows you to easily track your cash flow. This software retails for about $50 at most stores, which didn’t seem too expensive. However, while at Staples, I discovered that the software manufacturer, Intuit, has bundled Quicken Cash Manager 2012 as part of its TurboTax Standard Tax Year 2011 software package. This is an exclusive offer from Staples, meaning other stores are selling each software title separately. Since I normally use TurboTax to prepare and Netfile my income taxes, I was pretty excited to receive the bonus software with my purchase, which was already on sale. But even if you hire someone to prepare your taxes, it is worthwhile to buy this software bundle at Staples, just to get the Cash Manager program at a discount!
