I used to enjoy a Tim Hortons coffee every day, until I accepted my first free coffee from McDonald’s about two years ago. My previous experience with McDonald’s coffee hadn’t been that enjoyable but I decided to try it again. Honestly, how could a cheapo say no to a freebie? I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the coffee was and I found myself buying coffee at McDonald’s instead of Tim’s after the promotion ended.
But today, I decided it would be a nice change to go back to Tim Hortons, seeing as they are running the “Rrroll Up the Rim to Win” campaign again. I ordered the $1.49 value combo of a small coffee and apple strudel. Was I wrong to think that since McDonald’s offers a normal-sized muffin with their combo deal that the Tim Hortons strudel would be a decent size too? Apparently, at Tim’s you get exactly what you pay for. My strudel was approximately 1 inch by 3 inches. I was actually offended when I saw the size of it. They may as well have offered me one Timbit. If you can’t offer a proper deal, then don’t bother!
I tried to show the size of the pastry in comparison to the paper bag it came in.
And if you were wondering, my coffee cup did not contain a prize. Needless to say, I’ll be back at McDonald’s tomorrow for my $1.39 small coffee and muffin combo!
