Earlier this week, my workout buddy and I went shopping at the Bulk Barn to buy ingredients to make our own trail mix. I was armed with their store coupon for $3 off a $10 purchase, and by some weird stroke of luck, everything that we wanted happened to be on sale. Our good fortune continued at the till because everything added up to a total cost of $10.15. The people ahead of us subtotalled $9.96, just 4 cents short of the discount. They left the line to try and add 4 cents worth of goods. My plan had been to add disposable decorating bags (which are stored at the cash register) at $0.35 each in order to reach the $10 mark if necessary.

By sub-totalling $10, I also received a cute re-usable bag for free, valued at $0.99. This nationwide sale runs for one more week so I’ll probably make another run to buy various baking supplies!
