The last few months have been fairly busy and I haven’t been my usual cheapo self. In other words, I bought what I needed, when and where it was most convenient to shop. I can see why a lot of people do that instead of living the frugal lifestyle because it is somewhat liberating to shop without carrying around a stack of circled flyers and clipped coupons.
But that’s not me. I truly love couponing, and any feeling of freedom dissolved into disappointment when I realized that I completely forgot about the coupon I requested for a box of free Fibre 1 bars that could only be used on July 24. I felt even worse when I discovered the $10 in Old Navy Super Cash in my coupon organizer, which expired on July 25. Over the weekend I made a decision: I would get back on track. With the end of the month approaching, I knew I had to get organized before I lost out on more great deals. On Sunday, I dedicated part of my afternoon to clipping and sorting my mess of SmartSource, Redplum and Brandsaver coupon insert booklets.
With my tidy and purged coupon organizer in hand, I snagged the following deals at Walmart before the July 31 coupon expiry date:
Cascade Action Pacs 110’s $14.97 (-$1.50)
Kashi Crackers $2.97 (-$2.00)
Head & Shoulders $3 .97 (-$1.00)
Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner $2.97 (Buy 1, Get 1 Free)
Canadian Cheapo’s back in the game!
