Seen at No Frills (Ontario) today: There was a large promotional stand for Knorr Sidekicks. Coupon tear-off pads were hanging on the stand for “Buy 3 Knorr products, Get 1 Free”. Sidekicks side dishes were already on sale for $1, down from $1.69. With the coupon, 4 packages of Sidekicks cost me just $3. That’s more than 50 percent off! For those of you who are unfamiliar with this brand, they offer a range of instant side dishes, such as scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, various kinds of rices and noodles. My personal favourite is the Butter and Herb noodles. This particular flavour only requires two cups of water and a tablespoon of margarine; no milk is necessary. Add a cup of frozen vegetables and a can of tuna or leftover cooked chicken and voila, you have a casserole made in a jiffy!

Hellman’s mayo2 eggs1 can cream of mushroom soupDash of minced onion and seasonings2 slices of diced buttered breadDirections:Prepare a 2 quart baking panCook meat and veggiesPrepare mixture of Hellman’s mayo, eggs, soup and seasoningsLayer meat, veggie, and then place mixure on top.Top with diced buttered bread.Bake at 350 for 30 min.Enjoy!
