This sight made me laugh so hard I nearly fell down in the tea aisle at Sobeys today. One of the greatest hockey players of all time, Wayne Gretzky, also known as “The Great One”, has his own brand of green tea by Bigelow. I was already giggling when I saw the cheesy, airbrushed photo of Gretzky holding up a mug, presumably full of tea. By the time, my eyes fell on the phrase “One Great Tea”, I didn’t even try to hold my laughter back.

Gretzky’s Green Tea comes in 4 versions: Regular, decaffeinated, lemon and pomegranate. A box of 40 tea bags was priced at $5.99.
The only other time I’ve laughed harder at Wayne Gretzky was his appearance on the soap opera “The Young and the Restless” back in 1981. I searched all over the internet and Youtube for a clip of his performance but I guess no one had a VCR back then to record it. But somehow, the memory of his horrific acting (“Call me Wayne, everyone does.”) scarred me for life and remains permanently burned into my brain.
Note: For those of you who are wondering, I did not purchase one box of each flavour of Gretzky’s Green Tea. In fact, I have not bought food-related sports memorabilia in years.
Good post. I learn something new and challenging on sites I stumbleupon every day.
It’s always interesting to read articles from other writers and practice something from their web sites.
