Happy New Year everyone! I love the concept of having a fresh start. Too bad I can never make the most of it and I require a “do-over” by the Chinese New Year.
Yesterday was the last day of the year and for the first time in ages, I made the conscious decision not to go to a grocery store or Walmart in order to clear out my coupon organizer of all the coupons expiring on December 31, 2012.
2013 is going to be a different year for me. I’m not planning to make resolutions that I can’t keep, but I will make these shopping promises to myself:
- I will not beat myself up if I forget to use a coupon.
- I will not hoard when there is a sale. (Except for toilet paper…I can’t change overnight!)
- I will track my spending more regularly through Quicken Cash Manager and this blog.
- If I can make my life easier by shopping when/where it is convenient, I will value the time saved instead of concerning myself with the dollar amount.
I think I can manage to keep these promises to myself and still save money. Come back and visit my blog over the year to see how I’m doing!
These sound like really healthy resolutions to make you a happier person. 🙂 Happy New Year!
I hope so. It means I will probably see you at Longo’s! LOL
Garden Basket, almost always. It’s so close!
I wish you the best of luck with your “shopping promises”. Your beautiful family will certainly value the “time saved”…xoox
Awww…thanks, Kathleen!
